Family/portrait/lifestyle photography doesn't have to be a whole thing, with tonal linen and a field to frolic in at sunset.
It can just be... you, with your people (and/or pets!).
Come as you are - genuinely. I’m looking for moments of connection and joy and exploration, to create images that speak to who you are, in a way that is artistically beautiful, joyful and ultimately useful. Photos you want to put on the wall, and that will become part of your family story.
These are staged candid. My job is to find and manipulate the light, put you in it, remind you to look like you like each other, maybe make you laugh, and capture whatever happens next.
The session can take place at home, on your front verandah, or somewhere that feels comfortable. I'm genuinely not concerned about location - I don't care whether your house is renovated (mine isn't!)/messy/styled, whether the garden is landscaped. I look for light - and push a few things out of the way if I need to. Like all photographers I'm nuts for the last hour of sunlight but that's only because it makes my job easier. Pick whatever time your kids (or pet rock, or middle aged father) will be the easiest. I don't give a fiddle what you wear, but I’ll send through a little guide and chat through options if you wish.

Long form session

These are ideal for families with kids in around the 4-12 age group, especially if you live on a property and/or want to capture the kids immersed in their interests, interacting with you, each other and their environment, and more candid insights into life together at home.
A mix of structured portraits and much more child-led go with the flow time.
Standard session

45-60 minutes at home, or somewhere easy and perhaps special to you.
Digital gallery of all edited images in a mix of colour and b+w (many in both) to download in print and web resolutions, with $75 print credit.
This is about the right amount of time for most families to get a real mix of staged and candid portraits, with a bit of play and exploration in between.
Midi session
$540
20-30 minutes at home, or somewhere easy and perhaps special to you.
Digital gallery of all edited images in a mix of colour and b+w (many in both) to download in print and web resolutions, with $40 print credit.
This is the quick and easy photo update and is particularly suited to older kids, or kids who are very comfortable in front of the camera.
These sessions are usually limited to Bendigo unless by prior arrangement.

Extended Family Sessions
I love photographing extended families (truly!). It’s a chance for some photos all together, along with some special smaller groupings as well as time for each family unit. Generally these are structured as a mini session for each individual family plus one for the entire group, but get in touch for a quote.
Motherhood Sessions
I’ve been personally victimised by my husband’s camera phone and perhaps you have too. It isn’t vanity to want some nice photos to remember this period of your life, without showcasing the extra chins and eye bags. These are mid week during the school term, at home or somewhere you feel comfortable, at a discounted rate to regular sessions.
