After so many years working in health care, often in the worst periods of people’s lives, it is particularly special to be doing what I am doing now. Witnessing the best part.
This wedding was a tribute to second chances – a reminder that good things come to those who wait. It was a beautiful autumn day in Bendigo, and Lyndsey and Leigh were surrounded by their sons, parents, friends and family. It was a relaxed and fun celebration, and I am so glad to have been a part of it.
The dancing was a-mazing (and I don’t say that lightly), but my favourite part was the vows. Kathryn, their celebrant and close friend, asked Leigh whether he took Lyndsey to be his lawfully wedded wife. She barely got through ‘wife,’ before Leigh emphatically cut in “I do.” Everyone collapsed in giggles. He didn’t need to hear the conditions.
