Photographs that are as messy, absurd and real as you are.
You’ve found someone you really like and have decided to make it legal - perhaps with a massive party, or just a special few. You want beautiful photos with your loved ones, but mostly just want to celebrate with your favourite people. You care more about the people than the flower arrangements, and you don’t want to spend hours creating a catalogue of photos of your own faces of which you’ll print maybe three. The idea of being in front of the camera makes at least one of you feel wildly uncomfortable (same!).
I photograph weddings and elopements across Bendigo/central Victoria of all shapes and sizes, backgrounds, identities and orientations. Some are high energy, some are incredibly calm, most land somewhere in between. My role is to figure out when to be a fly on the wall and when to be a border collie. I’m looking for the absurd, the beautiful and the messy, imperfect realness of you and your people.
I have photographed hundreds of weddings since 2013. I would love to chat to get a sense of whether I’d be a good fit for you and the celebration you’re planning.

Let’s jump on a call and nut it out in ten minutes. I’m a straight shooter and good at whittling things down to what is really important to you.

We will find a way. I have a close personal relationship with the weather app and rain radar. I will bring umbrellas if necessary, we will run out between showers, we will find beautiful light and opportunities under cover and indoors. My favourite photos are, almost without exception, the product of problem solving some kind of limitation.

Nope! My 2025 resolution was to make my own life more manageable and focus on the weddings and elopements I connect with the most - down to earth and focussed on celebrating with favourite people.
I’m very happy to refer you on to local legends if you do want a full 10-12 hours.

In thirteen years I have never missed a wedding, including when I broke my big toe on the way out the door. If something did happen that meant I couldn’t do it, I have a big network of photographer friends to call on.

PHOTOGRAPHY

This is what most people are after and this is where I put my ‘this isn’t my first rodeo hat’ on.
Creating relaxed/candid/natural photographs usually requires some degree of direction. My role is to create the structure for these (lighting, composition, gentle posing etc) and then let it happen. For some people this requires a lot of interaction and nudges from me - others it doesn’t. I play it by ear. This process is super relaxed, but it is still taking photos.
The other important thing to note though - posed staring at the camera type shots are stone cold boring if they’re of strangers and abso-fricking-lutely delightful if they’re of the people you love.
Grandma wants them for a reason - she can see you in them!

No, and trust me - you don’t want them!
I delete the rubbish (sneezes, accidental shots of my feet, light tests) and cull everything down to a manageable number - which is still, usually, far too many!
I don’t have a set limit on how many I deliver to you, and this comes down to artistic discretion, pragmatism and any preferences you’ve indicated.
At the end of the day - this is to make it easier for you to favourite, print and store your photographs.

Same, same.
Family photos are often the most stressful part of the day and (unpopular opinion) the most important photos to get right.
We will discuss these in detail leading up to the day (family skeletons and all) - I’ll get a list from you and ask you to appoint a ‘border collie’ who knows most of the crowd to keep track of everyone.
I strongly advocate for keeping this process simple and ‘end-gaming’ it to what photos you actually want to print and frame.

I get it - truly. You’re not alone. I’ll pop you in some lovely light and keep you moving and chatting and somewhat distracted. I’ll direct you enough to keep rogue dangly arms under control/ fabric hanging nicely/ all the things. I will absolutely make a dork of myself and hopefully make you laugh and feel comfortable enough to be your own awkward wonderful selves.

Completely fine - some people are ok with website but not with social media, one or two, fine with anything de-identified or prefer nothing at all. Just tell me!
